Interview with Not Advised

We were lucky enough to chat with Jim and  Andy from Southampton's brilliant Not Advised at their show with Canterbury in Camden, London.

Front man Jim and Drummer Andy were a pleasure to chat with, check out more about them and their party tricks...or lack of (!) ...below:

So, How long have you guys been a band, and how did you get together?

Andy: We've been together for 4 years now and we all came together through local bands to form one super band, Not Advised.

Who would be your dream band to tour with?

Jim: Blink 182, definitely.

Who are the favourite bands you've toured with so far?

Andy: Canterbury & You Me At Six, Canterbury are a great bunch of guys, and we have genuinely loved hanging out with them, we can see ourselves partying with them in the future.

Whats the best gig you've played to date?

Andy: That would have to be the Manchester Vans Off The Wall Music Night, it was immense with everyone singing along.

Do you guys like to party hard when you're on Tour?

Andy: To be honest we're not very Rock'n'Roll, more like Grandads! We went through a phase when we were a new band of drinking every night, but now we want to be able to play at our best, so we try to be a bit more sensible.

So your new videos out tomorrow, what's it like seeing yourselves in a music video and on the TV etc?

Andy: It pretty weird, and it doesn't feel real until you actually see it.

Are you endorsed by any cool clothing brands?

Jim: Yea, after playing Vans off the Wall music night we got given some Vans and Vans clothes, also Cheer Up! Clothing and Reebok. 

Lastly, have you got any party tricks to show us?

Jim: No, I wish i did! I think I might have to learn some kind of party trick now!
