The Quilted Jacket -
One of the least likely items we thought we would ever see become fashionable, 1) because it reminds us of farmers and 2) takes back to the days when your mum would force horse riding lessons upon you, just for you to get bucked off it, and give you a fear of horses for life (or that might just be me).
It would be Barbour (Outdoor activity and Country sport clothing) we would have to thank for the quilted jacket design. Barbour goes all the way back to a chap called John Barbour who set up J Barbour & Sons in 1894, now available at the massive superstore Selfridges & Co Barbour have definitely reached a defiant point. (Only mens Barbour is available there though.)
We're pretty sure the massive re-birth of the Chanel bag has prompted this Barbour revelation, as the quilted design is a total YES. That, and also Equestrian being a massive hit trend for Autumn Winter 10'.
With that in mind lots of other clothing companies have now jumped on the band wagon and attempted their own take on the original. Here we've bought together a collection of the real and the imitation.
